The collection
Found in Rio. Played here.
CANA owns more than a thousand records, many of them found on the flea market and hauled back from Rio. That archive is part of the room, but it's only one part of how the week sounds.
During service
From opening through dinner, Tuesday to Saturday, the music is strictly Brazilian. House playlists curated by Brazilian DJ Thyago Xa move through bossa nova, samba, samba-jazz, MPB, Brazilian soul, funk, and beyond.
Friday + Saturday late
After 10:30 PM, guest DJs bring their own records and their own point of view. These sets aren't strictly Brazilian, they wander across almost any genre, but every DJ is asked to fold Brazilian records into the mix.
How CANA sounds
One room. Three moods.
Music follows the pace of the room: distinctly Brazilian through service, live on Wednesday, and open-ended when the weekend DJs take over.
Tue–Sat · service
Brazil, all evening.
Only Brazilian music during regular service—from bossa nova and samba to MPB, soul, and funk.
Wednesday · live
Voice and guitar.
Matheus Fonseca currently leads CANA’s weekly live set through bossa, samba-jazz, and contemporary MPB.
Fri + Sat · 10:30 PM
The DJ takes it wider.
Guest records, changing genres, and Brazilian music woven through the night. $20 entry becomes one drink credit.
